Tirupati:
A man was arrested for allegedly stealing over Rs 5,000 from the famous hill temple of Lord Venkateswara near Tirupati on Tuesday, police said.
Prakash, hailing from Bangarpet in Karnataka, was nabbed by the temple vigilance staff after they noticed him stealing the money from a 'Hundi' on CCTV.
They recovered Rs 5,137 from him and handed him over to police.
Nearly seven feet high Srivari Hundi, in which devotees deposit their offerings including cash, is located near the sanctum sanctorum.
