Man held for throwing acid on wife

Thane: A man was on Monday arrested for allegedly throwing acid on his wife at a lodge in Mumbra area, police said.

The victim, identified as 20-year-old Muskan, is a mother of two kids and suffered 50 percent burns in the incident, police said adding that they apprehended the accused Jubrail Khan (27), who had fled after allegedly throwing acid on his wife on Sunday at a lodge, from Sheel Phata on Monday.

Muskan was rushed to JJ hospital by the lodge staff in critical condition.  The motive behind the incident is not known and further investigations are on, police said.
