Indore: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly killed by her boyfriend who later attempted suicide and suffered severe injuries in the process on Thursday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Pinki, whose body was found lying on a hand-driven cart near a house here, Additional SP Rakesh Singh said.
There were marks on her neck that indicated that she could have been strangled, he said.
Her boyfriend, Raju, a labourer in the local vegetable market, jumped from a 40-feet-high water tank after allegedly murdering the teenager with whom he had been living for some time, Singh said.
He survived but suffered serious injuries and was admitted to the M Y Hospital where his condition is stated to be out of danger, the ASP said, adding Raju has been booked for murder.
Parents of the deceased told the police that Pinki had been missing from her house for some time and was probably living with Raju, Singh said.
However, it was not yet known what led to the murder.
