Damoh, Madhya Pradesh:
A man in Madhya Pradesh's Damoh district on Friday axed his wife to death out of suspicion of her having an affair, and later committed suicide by jumping in front of a train, police said.
The deceased were identified as Gayatri Patel, 19, and Shankar Patel, 23.
Shankar suspected that his wife was having an affair with her sister's husband, and they quarrelled frequently over this issue, police said.
After a heated argument, he allegedly hacked his wife to death, and later jumped in front of a train on Damoh-Patharia rail section.
The couple is survived by a six-month-old daughter.
