Thane: A man allegedly strangulated his wife before hanging himself to death at their residence in Asale village in Ulhasnagar town in the district of Thane near Mumbai on Monday, police said.
The couple has been identified as Nanaji Pandurang Sonawane (36) and his wife Sangeeta (33), police said.
"According to the information given by the nearby residents and neighbours, the couple used to frequently quarrel over petty issues. However, losing his temper during their arguments last night, Nanaji strangulated his wife," API S S Patil of the Vitthawadi police station said.
However, the man later ended his own life by hanging himself from the ceiling, police said adding that their neighbours found their bodies, after which, police were informed.
A police team rushed to the spot and the bodies were sent for post-mortem, police said.
