Jamshedpur: A 22-year old man, Paresh Besra, was lynched by his friends at Royadih in adjoining Seraikela-Kharswan district, police sources said on Monday.

Besra, a resident of Nutandih, was beaten to death by his friends on Sunday night who suspected him for destroying their boxing punching bag.

The two accused, who were regulars to the boxing ring, allegedly assaulted Besra severely with canes and iron roads, sources said, adding that Besra died instantly.

The police have arrested Vikas Kisku and Budeswar Hansda in this connection and forwarded them to Seraikela jail yesterday while the body has been sent to the MGM hospital for post-mortem.

The accused confessed to the crime but said they did not have any intention to kill Besra, sources added.
