A young man who forced a Class 10 girl to drink poison at gunpoint surrendered to police on Tuesday. Miraculously, the girl survived.
Mannu, a computer operator in a government office here, gave himself up and told shocked reporters that he was in love with the girl's elder sister.
The girl told police that the young man accosted her one day, "gave me a drink and threatened to kill me if I did not consume it".
