Faridabad:
A local court on Friday sentenced a man to seven years imprisonment for raping a minor after promising to marry her.
Faridabad District and Sessions Judge Darshan Singh sentenced Sanjay to seven years imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 18,000 on him.
According to the prosecution, Sanjay promised his 14-year old neighbour that he would marry her and eloped with her.
The victim's father had filed a complaint at Saran Police Station here after his daughter went missing.
Acting on the complaint, police found the duo and the victim said that Sanjay had raped her.
Later medical examination confirmed the rape.
