Man shot dead by mother, sister over minor dispute

Badaun, Uttar Pradesh: A 22-year-old youth was yesterday allegedly shot dead by his mother and sister over family dispute in Unjhani area, near here, police said.

Brij Mohan was killed by his mother Jai Devi along with her daughter Geeta (17) in Bhawanipur village while he was asleep, Additional Superintendent of Police R K Pandey said.

Mohan's marriage was arranged by his uncle Nem Singh on May 4 to which Jai Devi had objections, he said, adding the duo regularly used to have tiff with the victim over the issue.

Initially, Jai Devi and Geeta alleged that Mohan was killed by Nem Singh, but when quizzed, they confessed to the crime, he said.
