Man walks into police station with severed head of sister

Bahraich: Opposed to the idea of his 20-year-old sister marrying a 50-year-old, a man in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district first killed the girl and then walked into a police station with her severed head, police said today.

"Mahroon, who wanted to marry a 50-year-old person of Tajpur village in Rabipur area of the district, was beheaded by her brother Nanke," Superintendent of Police Vinay Kumar Yadav said.

After a complaint was filed by the girl's father, police recovered the body and sent it for post mortem, SP Yadav said.

Nanke was arrested and a case registered against him under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, police said, adding, investigations were on.
