Management student commits suicide in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad: A management institute student committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan of his bedroom in Ghaziabad.

According to the police, 22-year-old Punit Mishra, was pursuing his Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM) as a distant learning student of the Institute of Management Studies (IMT), Ghaziabad.

His death was detected on Monday morning when a relative, Anil, came to meet him and despite persistent knocking Punit did not open the room door. He peeped inside the room from the roof of a neighbouring house and found him hanging from the ceiling fan.

Anil called the police, who broke open the door and took the body for post-mortem examination.

"Punit, a resident of Faizabad (Uttar Pradesh), had taken the house on rent two years back and was attending coaching classes in Niharika Academy for the final examinations to be conducted by IMT," said Superintendent Police city A.K. Vijaita of Ghaziabad police.

"No suicide note was found during the search of the room. We are waiting for his father to arrive," added the official.
