Bangalore: A newly married couple committed suicide by hanging at their residence in Bangalore.
22-year-old Kavitha and her husband Senthil were married 10 months ago, and both worked for a private firm. Kavitha was five months pregnant.
The bodies were discovered by Senthil's father Krishna, who was visiting their house. When he could not get any response even after knocking on the door for a long time, he alerted the neighbours.
When they broke down the door, they saw the couple hanging from the ceiling, and informed the police.
"The reason for the extreme step is yet to ascertained," said an official from Vayyalikaval police station, adding that they were still questioning neighbours and parents of the couple.
