New Delhi:
About 55 shops were gutted and 20 others were partially burnt after a fire broke out at a tyre market in central district of Delhi, in the wee hours on Saturday.
No one suffered any injuries in the fire which occurred around 3 am at a tyre market in Rani Jhansi Marg near Filmistan theatre. Fire officials said a total of 34 fire tenders were immediately pressed into service to control the blaze.
Senior police officers said initial probe suggested that the fire was caused due to a short circuit in wires hanging amidst the shops in the area.
