Mumbai: Officers of the Turbhe police have registered a case against Navi Mumbai Congress leader Haribansh Singh and his three bodyguards for threatening media baron Viveck Goenka at gunpoint.
On Friday, Goenka's car stopped at Sanpada signal, when Singh, who wanted to take a right turn, started shouting at Goenka asking him to move.
Goenka told him there were vehicles ahead him. However, Singh continued to swear at him, while his bodyguards fished out their guns and threatened to kill him, said senior police inspector Prakash More of Turbhe police station.
"We have registered a case against Singh and his bodyguards. He is absconding and we have launched a manhunt," said More. When contacted, Goenka's office staff was not willing to comment.
