Balaghat:
A mentally challenged woman allegedly killed her baby by hitting it with a stone soon after giving birth to it.
The incident took place at the local bus stand late last night and the concerned woman was arrested, police said.
Malti Lakhera, a beggar who used to live at the bus stand after her husband left her, delivered a baby boy last night, they said.
Later, she hit the baby with a stone killing him on the spot, police said.
The woman has been arrested, they said, adding that a case has been registered and further investigations are on.
