The Millennium City can finally boast of Metro. Come Monday and thousands of people, who battle bumper to bumper traffic between Delhi and Gurgaon every day, will finally get a chance to experience a quick and hassle-free ride to their offices.

"We are excited... there is no public transport. With the traffic coming along, we prefer to travel to Delhi by the Metro," said a Gurgaon resident.

The trains on the 14-km Qutub Minar-HUDA City Centre corridor will run between 6 am and 11 pm with a frequency of approximately 12 minutes.

It will take just 27 minutes to complete the whole journey.

"I am absolutely excited and wish them good luck," another local said.

The fully elevated corridor has 10 Metro stations - HUDA City Centre, IIFCO Chowk, MG Road, Sikandarpur, Guru Dronacharya, Arjan Garh, Ghitorni, Sultanpur, Chattarpur, Qutub Minar. The trains, however, will not stop at the Chhattarpur station for now.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) says this corridor can be fully utilised only once it is connected to the rest of the network. But the main concern that most potential Metro users have is - how will they reach the Metro station.

So, will Gurgaon welcome Metro? Will it make people dump their personal transport? Hop on and find out.
