Mining mafia allegedly tries to run over woman revenue officer in Madhya Pradesh
Dewas, Madhya Pradesh: In the backdrop of the recent murder of an IPS officer, allegedly by the mining mafia in Madhya Pradesh, a woman revenue officer was nearly run over in the state's Dewas district on Wednesday allegedly by the mining mafia after she, along with her team, had rushed there to check illegal mining.

Tehsildar Meena Pal alleges that when she was inspecting the site in Kusumania village, a JCB machine operator, identified as Narendra Yadav, suddenly started moving the heavy machine towards her, forcing her to jump to other side to save herself.

Following the incident, Ms Pal registered a case against BJP politician Dhara Singh Patel, who allegedly was running the illegal mine and five others.

Today, the police seized five tractor-trolleys, laden with boulders, from the spot and have arrested five accused. However, action against Mr Patel is yet to be taken.

The earthen material was being extracted from a land that was reserved for grazing purpose in the revenue records and for construction of a godown for storing grain by the firm of the BJP leader.

Last month, IPS officer Narendra Kumar Singh was run over by a tractor allegedly loaded with illegally-mined minerals in Madhya Pradesh's Morena district.
