Moradabad: There is anger in the dalit community over the mob killing of 2 sisters in Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh. The sisters Mona and Geeta were allegedly burnt alive by a mob last Saturday for revenge.
Their brothers are accused of killing a local trader's wife and his eight-year-old daughter.
Their mother claims that in retaliation to her son's involvement in the incident a mob set the girls on fire inside their house in Moradabad.
Initially the police had called their death a suicide but have now gone ahead and booked the trader and 7 others for murder and under various sections of the prevention of atrocities against SC/ST Act.
Last evening local people from the Valmiki community who also work as sweepers boycotted work and tried to shut down shops. They are now demanding the arrest of the trader and his men who they allege had a role in killing the girls.
