Mumbai:
Mumbai Airport authorities on Wednesday carried out a mock security drill at the airport to check the effectiveness of security systems in the eventuality of a bomb threat.
The exercise, which lasted about one hour and saw participation by all agencies concerned, affected the operation of five flights, an airport official said.
"The security agencies and MIAL conducted an evacuation drill at Terminal B of the domestic airport. This is a standard practice, which is carried out every year," Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) spokesperson said.
The exercise was carried out between 2 pm to 2.45 pm.
