Mumbai:
In order to gauge the preparedness and response time of forces, a mock drill was carried out at the Mumbai airport today.
The mock bomb threat preparedness evacuation drill was staged at the international terminal.
The exercise started at around 1:40 pm.
The exercise was meant to test the response time and co-ordination of all the security agencies involved, in case there is an emergency or a crisis.
All passengers and staff at the international terminal were evacuated and the terminal will be checked as per the guidelines.
The drill was being conducted jointly by the Mumbai International Airport Private Limited (MIAL) and & the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) with prior notice and involvement of International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) & Air Traffic Control (ATC).
The mock drill ended at 2:50 pm. The passengers and staff have returned to the terminal and normal operations have ensued.
