Shimla: For almost a week most of Himachal Pradesh areas have been experiencing moderate to heavy rainfall but the monsoon will now largely remain subdued in the coming week, the weather man said today.
Precipitation occurred at a few places since Saturday, but there was no appreciable change in the minimum and maximum temperatures, the official told news agency IANS.
The weather bureau here said the towns of Shimla, Narkanda, Kufri, Palampur, Dharamsala, Dalhousie, Nahan and Manali recorded rainfall.
State capital Shimla recorded just 3.6 mm of rain.
"The monsoon will remain subdued in the region from August 15 to 19, with chances of light rains," the official added.
A government spokesperson said Satluj, Beas and Yamuna rivers and their tributaries were in spate in Kinnaur, Shimla, Kullu, Mandi, Bilaspur and Sirmaur districts.
