New Delhi:
Milk prices in Delhi and NCR are set to rise with Mother Dairy, the largest supplier in the region, saying it will increase the rates of fresh milk by up to Rs 2 per litre.
The company said the price change will be effective from March 20 in the National Capital Region.
"There has been increase in milk procurement prices which is significantly more than the increase in consumer prices. We are therefore compelled to increase prices of all milk variants," a Mother Dairy Fruit & Vegetable spokesperson said in a statement.
As per the revised prices, full cream milk (poly pack) will cost Rs 30 per litre against its existing price of Rs 28 per litre, while toned milk (poly pack), which is currently sold at Rs 22, will priced at Rs 23 a litre.
"We have to constantly juggle between giving the farmer a fair price for his produce and on the other hand, a reasonable price to our consumers," the spokesperson added.
