Bhavnagar, Gujarat:
A woman and her four-year-old daughter died after she allegedly set herself and three children afire in Rampara village in the district, police said on Friday.
The incident took place on Thursday night when Laxmi Sarvaiya in her early 30s, doused herself and her three children Pooja (8), Sarsawati (4) and Kuldeep (3) with kerosene and set fire, they said.
According to police, Laxmi died on the spot, while the three children were admitted to the government hospital with critical burn injuries.
Of the three children, Saraswati succumbed to her injuries yesterday afternoon, police said, adding that the condition of other two kids was stable.
Laxmi had lost her husband three months ago due to some illness.
A case has been registered in the matter and further investigation was on, police said.
