Mumbai:
A 78-year-old woman was found murdered at her residence in Mumbai and gold ornaments worth Rs 1.25 lakh were also stolen, police said on Friday.
The victim, Sita, was alone at her home in Worli, Central Mumbai, when she was attacked on Thursday.
According to police, her husband Ananad Narayan (90), a stenographer, had gone to office. When he returned home last night, he found his wife in a pool of blood.
Sita's neck was slashed with a sharp object by unidentified persons, police said adding, her gold bangles, 'mangalsutra' and rings, all worth Rs 1.25 lakh, were stolen, they said.
Their housemaid has been questioned and further probe was on, police added.
