Mumbai: Fifteen-year-old boy studying in class X committed suicide by hanging from a ceiling fan at his home on Sunday. Police suspect sustained pressure from his mother to improve his grades led to the rash step. According to the police, the incident took place at CP Talao area in Wagle Estate in Thane.
The boy Ravi Lohpeti's father works for a private company in Dubai and his mother is a housewife. Since Ravi's grades were slipping, his mother would repeatedly ask him to be serious about academics. Tired of the rants, on Sunday afternoon when she had gone out, Ravi committed suicide.
