Mumbai doctor booked for allegedly molesting neighbour

Mumbai: The frequent conflicts with his lady neighbour over car parking and other trivial issues proved dear for a Vashi-based doctor after he was booked while his accomplice arrested for molesting the lady on Wednesday.

The accused has been identified as Dr Atul Janugade and Rakesh Tiwari.

According to police sources, Janugade, a resident of Siddhartha Cooperative Housing Society in Sector 12, Vashi used to have frequent quarrels with his lady neighbour over car parking and other petty issues.

"It was routine for them to have heated arguments repeatedly over car parking. But things took a serious turn on Tuesday night when Janugade, in a fit of anger, barged into the house of the victim and abused her. He allegedly molested the lady during the quarrel," DCP (Zone I), Ashok Dudhe said.

Police said that Janugade and his accomplice Tiwari picked up a quarrel with the victim on Tuesday night over car parking. After initial heated arguments, the duo forcefully entered into the house of the victim and hurled abuses at her. The victim, in her complaint lodged with the Vashi police has alleged that Janugade molested her during the arguments, police added.

Following her complaint, an offence was registered against Janudage and Tiwari under sections 345 and 452 of the IPC.

Though police later arrested Tiwari in connection with the molestation, the doctor is yet to be arrested, police said adding, further investigations are underway.
