Mumbai engineer found dead in bathroom
Mumbai: A 25-year-old engineer was allegedly murdered in his flat in Airoli, Navi Mumbai. Dipan Banerjee was found dead in the bathroom of his apartment by his friends.

The Rabale police believe that it is a case of murder, as Dipan's body had several injuries, which was made by a sharp weapon. "Prima facie it seems it is a case of murder," one of the officers said.

Dipan, who was living on the fourth floor of Silvia building in sector-8 of Airoli, had just shifted to the city from Kolkata and worked in a reputed company. His neighbours told MiD DAY that he was reserved by nature. He never interacted with anyone as he left the house early in the morning and came back late at night.

The investigating officers from Rabale police station said that they reached the apartment at 8 pm after Dipan's friends' called them.  When the police broke down the door they found him lying on the bathroom floor.

According to sources, there was no suicide note or any kind of weapon found. "If it was a suicide then the weapon which he used to hurt himself should have been present at the scene. He would have cut his hand or neck to commit suicide but attacking every part of the body is not possible. So it a case of murder", said a police officer of Rabale police station.

After the incident, the police registered a case and are waiting for the post mortem report for further investigation. Police also informed his family in Kolkata who are expected to arrive in Mumbai today.
