Mumbai:
Through the day the enthusiastic and energetic Govindas of Mumbai are busy chasing the lucrative pots of luck. As the day turns to night, some are left to nurse their wounds, memories of their not-so-pleasant falls.
So this year, in anticipation, the municipal corporation is already getting Govinda-ready.
Last year saw an average of 70-75 wounded Govindas checking into KEM Hospital in Parel. This year, 50 beds have already been allocated for possible wounded Govindas. Nayar and Sion Hospital have set aside a ward of seven beds each. Suburban hospitals like Bhabha, Bhagwati, Rajawadi, Cooper and M T Agarwal Hospitals have also been asked to keep first aid arrangements in place.
Till last evening, Govinda mandals across the city were praying for some relief from the incessant downpour, relief that came this morning with bright sunshine. Now this new arrangement by the municipal corporation is perhaps a bonus.
