Mumbai: In Navratri, sport a tattoo and impress

Mumbai: Navratri is here and youngsters are gearing to make the first impression among their peers. Youngsters are making a beeline to design studios to get their tattoos done. Artists confirm that the number of youngsters getting the tattoo pierced almost doubles during the season. Almost 99 per cent of the clients coming to emboss the body art are women; some opt to get a permanent tattoo done.

The body art is essential to carry off the ensemble of eye-catching backless cholis and gorgeous low waist ghagras, which are the trend for the season; girls like to blend tattoo art with their apparel. "I don't blindly go for getting tattoos done. It was only after research that I finalised on the design. Body art is the in-thing and there is no harm in getting a tattoo done," Namita Shah, a resident of Hiranandani Meadows.

Experience Beauty and Hair Salon, located at Hiranandani Meadows and Estate is booked for tattoo appointments and more girls are getting tattoos done on their body. "Since the last couple of weeks, we are getting many customers who wish to get the tattoo done. Most of them are girls and young women," Santosh Raut, proprietor of the salon said.

He added, "Girls want to get the tattoo done especially during the festive season since they usually deck up for Navratri to attend the Garba nights."

Some like the body art on their areas like back, waist, neck and ankle. The adventurous ones go in for personalised tattoos with designer themes like names and sun signs. "Nine out of ten times my clients are girls. They are more interested in getting the tattoo and come well researched on designs. They know exactly what they want," Raut said.
