A resident of Mulund Colony allegedly committed suicide after his wife eloped with her lover on Tuesday.
Mukesh Jagtap, 32, allegedly committed suicide at his residence at Bhagat Singh Marg in Mulund Colony. "Naina left home without informing anyone last month and since then Mukesh was depressed," informed Hiramann Patil, a close relative of the deceased.
He added, "In September, Naina had a nasty fight with Mukesh. After this she left home, but she returned after a few days. But this time she didn't come back."
However, other relatives informed that for sometime there were disagreements between them. "There was gossip that Naina was having an affair with someone. Naina's parents also made an attempt to make her understand, but despite that she took this step," said another relative. In 1999, Mukesh and Naina got married. "It was a love marriage. There was opposition from the family, so they lived separately," said another relative. Mukesh is survived by two daughters Vaishnavi, 10, and Divya, 4.
