Mumbai:
An Indian Navy sepoy was today arrested for allegedly molesting a 17-year-old girl and assaulting her father at Colaba in south Mumbai, police said. The accused was identified as Vikramsing Uddamsingh (45), presently posted at INS Shikara at Colaba, they said.
According the police, the incident happened last night near INS Shikara gate, when a man, who owns a garment shop at Colaba market, and his daughter were walking towards their home. Vikramsing chased the duo and touched the girl inappropriately. When her father tried to rescue her, the accused beat him up, they said.
Subsequently, a complaint was registered by the victim's father at Colaba police station last night, police said adding that the accused was nabbed this morning and further probe was on.
