Mumbai:
A patient undergoing treatment at the civic-run KEM Hospital in Mumbai allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the second floor of the hospital at Parel on Monday, police said.
The deceased, identified as 30-year-old Baliram Bhaval who is a resident of Mahatma Phule Chawl in Kandivali, was undergoing treatment for low blood platelet count the KEM hospital, they said.
He was admitted to S K Patil hospital in Malad a few days ago. As his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to KEM hospital, police said.
He seemed frustrated and would shout in anger throughout the day in the hospital disturbing all, they added.
Bhaval's family members had decided to take him to their native place for treatment, police said adding at around 5.30 am, a taxi was hired and he was taken towards the vehicle.
Bhaval suddenly ran towards the hospital and jumped from the second floor of the building, resulting in his death, police said.
