Mumbai:
A hoax call grounded a Dubai-bound Emirates flight at the Mumbai Airport on Sunday.
The flight was taxi-ing for take-off at 9:55 am, when an unidentified caller warned airport police of a possible LeT operative on board. The plane was then sent to the isolation bay, and all 356 passengers and their baggage were screened.
The only passengers detained were 70-year-old Shahbaz Khan and his wife.
Khan lives in South Mumbai, and even contested the assembly polls from Colaba as an independent candidate. The hoax call, apparently the result of a family dispute, was made by Khan's son - who was unhappy with Khan's second marriage.
The flight was finally cleared for take-off four hours later at 2:04 pm.
