Mumbai:
The son and daughter-in-law of an Assistant Police Commissioner (ACP) allegedly committed suicide at their residence in suburban Malad in Mumbai.
"The young couple-- Abhijit (27) and wife Ashwini (21)-- were found dead at their residence this morning. Abhijit, son of ACP Madhusudan Kurne, used his father's service revolver to kill self," said Additional Police Commissioner, Ramrao Pawar.
Preliminary probe has suggested that Abhijit may have shot his wife ahead of taking the extreme step himself, Pawar said.
The reason for the suicide is not yet clear, he said.
Their bodies have been taken to nearby hospital for postmortem.
