Kochi:
The Kerala High Court on Friday granted bail to 12 persons accused in a case relating to the murder of Paul Muthoot George, scion of the multi-core Muthoot business group.
Allowing the petitions of the accused, Justice K T Sankaran said there was no need to continue their detention for the purpose of interrogation and directed them to furnish a bond of Rs 50,000 each with two sureties for like amount.
The court also directed them to surrender their passports and not to enter Alapuzha district, where the murder took place in August last year.
The accused have to appear before the investigating officers every Monday and Thursday, the court said.
George, the executive director of Muthoot M George group, was allegedly stabbed to death by the gang of 12.
The 12 accused, arrested last August, were in judicial custody.
