Nainital:
A massive fire broke out on Tuesday in the historic District Collectorate building in Nainital damaging important records, officials said.
The fire broke in the 112-year-old building at around 8 am and soon spread to other sections of the building, they said.
Fire brigade has been pressed in action to control the fire, District Magistrate Shailesh Bagoli said.
Important records kept in various sections of the building including the registry office were affected by the fire, he added.
Efforts were on to douse the fire when last reports came in.
