A family in Bangalore would have burnt to death had the neighbours not intervened in time to save them from the death trap.
S Kanthraj, a resident of Boweelane 'A' street, had a fight with his wife, after which he abused her and beat up his two kids. After locking them up in the bedroom, Kanthraj poured kerosene and set himself ablaze.
The neighbours were caught unaware as they saw him run out of the house screaming; his body on fire. They, however, got into action soon and saved him.
Prasad, who saved Kanthraj's life said, "I saw him running out of the house; he was on fire. At first I was shocked, but got into action quickly and poured water on him."
"The clothes in the house had caught fire and it was spreading. We saved the family in the nick of time," added another neighbour.
