Dehradun: A 19-year-old Nepalese girl on Thursday allegedly committed suicide at an engineering college in Dehradun.
Nisha Jaiswal, a B. Tech first year student, was found hanging from the ceiling fan in her hostel room at the Dehradun Institute of Technology by her roommate when she returned after attending her morning classes, SHO Rajpur police station said.
Though the exact cause of the suicide was not immediately known, prima facie it appeared that the girl took the extreme step because of depression, he said.
The body has been sent for a post-mortem and her relatives have been informed, police sources said.
