New Delhi:
Two young call-centre executives allegedly involved in burglaries including at the house of a
senior BSNL official were arrested in south Delhi, police said on Thursday.
Twenty-three-year-old Nishant and 22-year-old Samridha, both residents of Safdarjung Enclave, were apprehended from near Vinayak Mandir in Sarojini Nagar recently, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) H G S Dhaliwal said.
"Nishant is pursuing graduation from a Delhi University (DU) college whereas Samridha is a graduate. Both the accused can speak English fluently and are working with Apex Call Centre
in Gurgaon," he said.
The arrests came following investigations into the burglaries at the houses of Kameshwar Prasad, a caterer, and Makshima, a senior officer of BSNL from where ATM cards, jewellery and cash were stolen.
"Investigators found that several transactions were made using the stolen ATM cards. The youths also purchased two mobile phones from South Extension and Sarojini Nagar Markets," Dhaliwal said.
Video footage has also been procured from the shop in Sarojini Nagar from where they purchased the mobile phone using stolen ATM cards.
