Rewa, Madhya Pradesh: Nine labourers were on Monday killed and scores of others feared trapped under the debris of a collapsed wall at an under-construction site near Rewa town in Madhya Pradesh, a senior official said.
The incident occurred at around 3 pm on Monday when an under-construction wall of a commercial building collapsed, trapping over 100 labourers at Jiula village, Rewa Collector Shiv Narayan Rupla told sources.
The building belongs to Mahendra Shukla, brother of Madhya Pradesh Energy Minister Rajendra Shukla.
Nine bodies have been recovered so far from the spot while many labourers were feared trapped under the debris, he said.
Eighteen of the injured labourers were admitted in Rewa District Hospital, he said.
Rescue operations are in progress.
