Jhansi: A police officer, male, is on camera forcibly removing the dupatta or stole of two teenaged girls accused of snatching a woman's purse in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh.

Jai Prakash Yadav, the station officer at the Kotwali police station, was not secretly filmed on camera doing what is against the law. He invited the local media today and paraded the girls before them, providing a photo-opportunity. In video footage of the incident, he is clearly seen pulling off the girl's dupattas for the cameras.

That wasn't the only law the policeman broke. The two girls were reportedly detained yesterday and instead of sending them to a women's police station, they were made to spend the night at the Kotwali police station. He also reportedly named the both of them in front of the local media.

The girls have been released on bail, but so far, no action has been taken against the cop.
