Vadodara: A nurse was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the theft of a new born baby from the Gujarat Government-run Jamnabai Hospital in Vadodara last month, police said.
The nurse, who works in the hospital, had stolen the baby boy on November 12. Police are searching for another woman involved in planning of the theft, Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana said.
The woman, who has married for the second time, had stolen the baby to please her mother-in-law, he said.
A woman posing as a nurse had escaped with the newborn from the hospital located in Panigate area. The baby was later recovered.
