One Delhi family, three honour killings

New Delhi: First, a young couple, Amit and Monika, married for four years, was found dead at their home in West Delhi. (Read: Delhi - Couple found dead, honour killing suspected)

Now, two days later, another body has been discovered 300 metres from that house. A parking attendant alerted the police to a foul smell near a black Santro. The female corpse found inside turned out to be that of Shobhana, a cousin of Monika's. (Read: Delhi 'honour killing': One more body found)

Evidence points to three honour killings in the same family. The brothers of the women found dead are missing.

Monika, a Gujjar, married Kuldeep, a Rajput, in 2006, against her family's wishes.  Monika's cousin, Khushboo, also eloped.  Shobahana, found dead today, helped them both with their weddings.  And she, too, was in love with a man her brothers didn't approve of.  With Monika and Shobhana now dead, the police worries about Khushboo's safety.

"We have spoken to Khushboo and told her that if she senses danger, she should immediately get in touch," says a senior officer handling the case.
