Mumbai: One person was killed and three injured after a compressor of an air conditioner exploded on Saturday at MIDC area in suburban Andheri, police said.
Rafiz Sayyed died of burn injuries while Abdulla Shaikh, Javed Khan and Samshed Khan were undergoing treatment in a hospital, police said adding Shamshed's condition is critical and is in Intensive Care Unit.
According to police, the four were servicing a 'big' air conditioning compressor in a private firm, Warali Parason, located on third floor of High tech Plaza building in MIDC area.
"While the four were carrying out servicing this afternoon, the compressor suddenly exploded injuring all the four. They were rushed to a nearby hospital. Rafiz had maximum burn injuries due to which he died," Deepak Bagwe, Senior Inspector at MIDC police station told PTI.
Investigations were on to establish what led to the explosion, Bagwe said adding that, "If the probe finds that the incident happened because of anybody's negligence, then an FIR would be lodged against that person."
