Dehradun: Uttarakhand Director General of Police BS Sidhu today laid the foundation stone of a petrol pump at the police lines to be named after Shaktiman, the police horse who died recently of injuries sustained during a BJP protest rally in the city last month.
Located about 250 metres from the police lines, the petrol pump will be run by Police Jana Kalyan Samiti, a police lines staff said.
Shaktiman, who was part of Uttarakhand mounted police for years, had been kept at the police lines for over a month after suffering injuries at the protest rally.
