Shimla:
Around 800 Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) landlines and broadband subscribers on Thursday faced trouble as their telephones went dead after damage to cables by some unknown persons.
The cable was cut and a small portion was removed near the Mall Road as a result of which 800 phone lines, including the phones of the High Court, a nationalised bank and a reputed hotel remained out of order.
Divisional Telegraph Engineer (DET) Saroj Kumar said it would take two days to repair the fault which has been detected.
Broadband services have also been hit affecting the functioning of banks and newspaper offices.
