Thane badminton player, Girish Sharma recently bagged a medal at a national championship for the physically-challenged.
Girish, 27, whose right leg was amputated, participated in a national championship for the physically-challenged held recently at the Rotary Club of Chennai info city in Chennai. He participated in the men's doubles event and bagged a bronze medal.
Last year, Girish bagged a gold medal in same tournament. "I am happy that I could bag a medal for second consecutive year at the tournament. I think nothing is impossible provided one has the positive attitude, will power and commitment for hard work."
At the championship, Girish teamed up with Himagiri of Karnataka and were pitched against the pair of Gopi and Siddhant from Karnataka. Girish and Himagiri lost in a closely-contested match.
In the men's singles event, Girish defeated Satyanarayna of Andhra Pradesh in the pre-quarter finals. However, he lost to G Dileshwar Rao of Andaman Nicobar.
