A dumper truck loaded with sand allegedly ran over a police official near Palla pool at Faridabad near Delhi on Monday morning. The sand mafia is being suspected to be behind the murder.
Constable Mahaveer Singh, on the instructions of the Police Control Room, tried to stop the dumper truck when it ran him over, according to the police. The driver of the truck attempted to escape by driving on the wrong side of the road, but was soon chased down and arrested near the Badarpur area by the police. The dumper truck has also been reportedly confiscated.
The dumper loaded with sand, which was allegedly stolen from the Yamuna banks, was going to Ashoka Enclave, according to the police.
A murder case against the owner and the driver of the dumper truck has been filed.
