Chennai: Opposition AIADMK and MDMK today staged a walkout from the Tamil Nadu Assembly after Speaker R Avudaiyappan denied permission to raise an issue on the alleged encounter killing of a key accused in the kidnap and murder of two school children in Coimbatore.
Soon after the question hour, when the Deputy Leader of the Opposition O Panneerselvam demanded that the issue be taken up for discussion immediately, the Speaker refused permission.
Avudaiyappan said the issue could be taken up for discussion after a formal requisition was received from the members.
However, AIADMK and MDMK members staged a walkout.
