New Delhi:
A 32-year-old pregnant woman died in mysterious circumstances in south-west Delhi with her family alleging that she was poisoned to death by her husband over dowry, police said on Wednesday.
The incident was reported from Bindapur yesterday and the victim has been identified as Sangeeta. Her husband Rajiv Sharma, a trader, has been detained for questioning but has not been arrested till late evening.
Police said the couple, both divorcees, were not in good terms.
Sharma told police that he had gone to his sister's place yesterday afternoon to celebrate Rakshabandhan when the incident happened.
He said Sangeeta telephoned him and told him that she was not feeling well. When Sharma arrived at his residence, he rushed her to a nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead.
